Lecture #2 Egalitarianism

Another one of my favorite lectures was our lesson on Egalitarianism.  Egalitarianism is "a belief in human equality, a social philosophy that promotes for the removal of inequality among people  What made this lecture most interesting is that reaching equality is still an issue in society today.  People are treated unfairly because of race, gender, religion, disability, and even more reasons. Everyone has the desire to be equal and have their freedoms. The fishbowl we had discussing "A White Women of Color" by Julia Alvarez was my favorite of all. Although I did not put my own ideas into the fishbowl, I sincerely enjoyed hearing what other students had to say, especially of that to do with their own lives. It also made me realize that equality will never be fully reached. People will always be discriminated against due to something and not feel equal.
