Lecture #3 Poetry
Another one of my favorite lectures was during the poetry unit. I have always had mixed feelings about poetry. I definitely like when a poem rhymes. Thats a plus. Either I would not understand a poem at all or it would take me some time to discover the deeper meaning to it. Once this deeper meaning was discovered and expressed to me, I found poetry to be quite interesting. Our last fishbowl definitely ranks up near the top. We discussed a poem called "Identity" by Julio Noboa Polanco which expresses a message of being your own independent being and not allowing what others think to affect you. I totally agree with the message that the author is expressing. This also was one of my favorite lessons because it is honestly amazing listening to the ideas that other students come up with. These deeper meanings of the ideas of the poem that my classmates think of really open my eyes and also get me asking myself "How could someone possibly think of such an extraordinary analysis to a piece."
